Verde at Howard Square West

Do not move here. I lived at Verde West for 10 months and had to break my lease due to a cockroach infestation. Pest control requests were not handled promptly, and the issue worsened to the point where I became very sick for almost a month. Management verbally agreed to let me break my lease but took nearly three weeks to provide written confirmation, which made the move extremely stressful. I lost several rare and expensive plants (including Monstera Thai and Albo) and had to throw away furniture due to the infestation. The property is poorly maintained. Trash is often left outside apartment doors for hours or overnight. Packages frequently go missing, and there is no clear organization system. The leasing office is unresponsive and tends to blame tenants instead of resolving issues.

I can’t say enough great things about my experience living here! From the very beginning, Dena, Precious, and Nia have been nothing short of amazing. Their professionalism, warmth, and willingness to go above and beyond truly make this community feel like home. Whether it's answering questions, helping with paperwork, or just greeting you with a smile, they bring a level of care and dedication that sets this place apart. The maintenance staff is equally impressive—friendly, responsive, and incredibly knowledgeable Ive been living at Verde West for about a year & as a black woman that lives alone I’ve felt extremely safe & comfortable. I’ve met so many people in the building and on my floor that have made living here feel even more like home.

If you value your peace of mind and the well-being of your family, I strongly advise you to avoid these apartments. Not only is this place the worst in the city, but the management is also incredibly unprofessional and inefficient. After living here for nearly 18 months, my car was towed twice in just one week even though my tag and registration display in the window but it was taken and cost me over $300 during my very last week here. This happened because the management is requiring residents to register their vehicles and provide personal information for storage, which I am uncomfortable doing due to privacy concerns. The poor management here has made this experience unbearable, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Look at damage under my car from towed truck .

Junius was very professional and knowledgeable to fix the water problem in thr Main Bathroom. He was also very thoughtful regarding the inconvenience that the situation caused and extended himself beyond the normal time that it could have taken to make sure the problem was corrected immediately!
