The West Apartment

Trying to get a viewing has been literally impossible. I left a message on Zillow, I called, I texted, I called again and again and again and no one responds. I saw the ratings were pretty low and I don’t know if it’s just me, it’s a bit tricky getting to the actual written reviews. Once I finally managed to pull them up it was all about poor quality construction, horrible resident service, and deposits not being paid back. Safe to say that was enough to change my mind cause I’m merely just someone who is interested in seeing the space and giving them my money, but can’t even be given the time of day. I can’t imagine what it would be like once I’d be a resident and they’ve already got my money.

The West in West Orange: Luxury Price Tag, Dysfunctional Reality Gas leak. Sealed-over ceiling vent. Heating failure. That’s just a sample of what I experienced while paying top-dollar at The West — a building advertised as “luxury” but plagued with negligence and shortcuts. I lived here for two years, and it was by far the most frustrating housing experience I’ve ever had — far worse than apartments I’ve rented for a third of the price. Apartment not ready. No showed the walkthrough for keys. They don’t answer the phone. We don’t even live here yet and they’ve already showed us how they treat their residents. Alex is horrendously unprofessional & extremely disrespectful of people’s time.

Disgusting Owners, Disgusting Management. You pay $3400-4500 for a 1 Bedroom/2 Bedroom that almost feels like a jail. The owner just because he has a little money he thinks he can talk and treat people any way he wants. Out of all complex’s and apartment buildings being built in WO, i wouldn’t recommend this apartment building to my worst enemy. What a disgusting building to have in my hometown.

Lived here when they just opened. They agreed to a 6 month lease while our house was being renovated. Loved the apartment, amenities and the location. On the pricier side, but given that they agreed to a shorter lease, I have no complaints.
