The Vibe at Clear Lake

The letter I wrote to the staff: To whom it may concern, My name is Melissa Reeves. On May 20, 2019 I moved into apartment number 179 at The Vibe At Clear Lake. We prorated for the end of May and started our year long lease on June 1, 2019 and signed a lease for apartment 179. We never received a mailbox key. When we moved in, the fresh paint had simply been sprayed over cobwebs. There were literal white spiderwebs everywhere. I took photos and sent them to the office. In our first month, our second bedroom flooded twice. They said it was a fluke and that they would fix. In the next few months sewage leaked into our bathrooms repeatedly, our kitchen flooded due to our neighbor's AC leaking, and our oven never worked. These 5 star reviews are fake af. I've been here for almost 4 years, and have had roaches, mice, bed bugs, pretty much anything that you can get living in an apartment. At its peak, I literally caught 20 mice in one day. I had to buy my own traps because all the "exterminator" would give us is two glue pads a month. Most of the people who live here don't care, and neither does the management. There's trash EVERYWHERE! Don't drive anything nice, your vehicle WILL get keyed and dented. Be careful when walking around here, everyone here speeds through the parking lot. The AC sucks air from the attic and through the walls so don't bother buying a filter. I deleted my bad review, and will replace it with a good one bexcuse I feel they deserve the recognition. Betty in the office handles everything with such diligence, they'd be crazy to let her go. They have fixed so much, added dumpsters, fixed the pool, inspected the apts to make sure everything is working properly (ie water pressure, lights, outlets, etc) and they were genuinely sad to learn I wouldn't be renewing ONLY because I will be attending school in Austin. It's a quiet place, and they are working to fix the trash overflow issues very hard. They fixed all the washing machines and upgraded them and now the whole complex doesn't have to share 3washers and dryers, but instead can share 3 laundromats on site. I lived a year and a half and I had a horrible experience, infested with cockroaches, the maintenance staff is not professional, the heater the house was not working for more than 15 days and in the end it was never fixed, the apartment was untouched by sewage and I had to move my family to another place because I have a newborn baby and in those bad apartment conditions and the conditions that were created for health I could not have my baby in that place. As I planned to stay before those things happened I did not notify that I was going to go and now the manager sent me to collections and I have to pay two months unjustly, because they were not able to comply with the maintenance of the apartment, until a wall broke trying to fix a heater, nobody responds to this situation, it is unfort

Although this place has really good apartments, they do need to work on fixing there exteriors asap. There concrete walkways are crumbling and breaking they need to fix them for there residents. As well they need to be more strict with pet owners cause the smell is unbearable at most times, and with children running around at times might not be healthy for them to be around. They also need to have parents be aware of what children do, many throw heavy little rocks and debrees at each other or towards the pool or walkways it might be hazardous to other residents. It might seem like I'm going off or being too informative but all in all its best for the apartments and for there residents. I would rate 5 but they need a bit more work before they can be a 5.
