Lawndale Commons

I really love the community at Lawndale commons. They are good on fixing anything promptly you may have issues with. I have lived here for around 6 months and have enjoyed it. They host activities at the leasing office. They have added an additional dog park, are in the process of adding a playground and new grilling area. I do however wish they would contract with a different energy provider as American Power and light does not have any help for customers having issues paying a big bill at one time (no payment plans, budget plans or any help) but that doesnt reflect the apartment complex.

While staff is JUST OK, the apartments are horrible! Lived there for 2 years and the last year was bad! I experienced a heavy mold issue. I had to throw many hats and clothes away. The management did try and take care of it and it took them over a month to get done. Travis one of the maintenance guys even said “There is more than just you with mold in the walls.” They fixed, but left a big white patch in my ceiling which they never came to paint over as Travis promised. Things in the apartment were just falling apart. I had to fix something within a month of moving because they were done fast and cheap. Alexis was greatly helpful today in helping me tour the community. I loved the apartment setting, the unit had a great space. And also Alexis carefully explained to me all the advantages and specials that came with the unit. She was very sweet and made my tour great.

I have been here for a month and my truck windows have been busted out. I’m having to replace all 4 windows in my truck which is 2,000$ worth of damage. This community does nothing to prevent the crime that is going on in this community. We pay for luxury apartments just to be in a crime rated area. I’ve went to the office and given complaints and they said they will not hire security or do anything to prevent they said they will put in a license plate reader and this was a month ago and it has not been done. Absolutely do not move here. If you care about the things you work hard for then this is not the place you want to be. The management company cares nothing about their residents that live here or they would be more proactive in trying to prevent the crime occurring against their resid

The property has made remarkable progress in just a few months. When I first moved in, it was quite dark at night, and going out after dark was a little intimidating. Since then, the new management company has installed garage lights throughout the property, making it much brighter and safer at night. They've also been proactive in addressing the recent increase in crime across the area (not just in Lawndale) by installing security cameras at the front entrance. Trash management isn't solely the responsibility of the management team; it's more of a resident issue. Some residents aren't properly disposing of their trash, and the management team has sent out numerous emails explaining what to do when the compactor is full or inaccessible.
