The Mansions at Hockanum Crossing Apartments

We’ve been living at the Mansions for about two years. This place is beautiful and perfect for a small family. There’s tons of events placed by both the leasing office folks and neighbors, such as outdoor movies, trunk or treat competitions, holiday treat specials, etc. Almost every week there’s food trucks available in front of the leasing office. There’s also nearby trails and park but honestly it’s also fun just walking in the neighborhood with my kid. Sure, many of the kitchen appliances are “outdated” but if you’re somebody looking for that “outdated” vibe rather than the minimalist modern kinda look, then this place is for you. Not luxury apartments at all!! There oldest most loyal tenants must keep all the outdated fixtures because they only update the apartment as tents move out, no exceptions! White refrigerators/stoves (30 yr old models) count tops are all faux materials floors have old carpets (yes thick carpet type) they don’t replace ever till you move out. Nor they offer to steam clean them once a year! They have a club house but tents can’t use nor rent for occasions! They charge an HOA fee like it’s a self own condominium. The women manager Mary is rude and petty no respect to there bread and butter tents…. Dear management tenants live inside there apartments not out on the grounds.. Upgrades are needed in side!!!!!!!!!!!

This community came highly recommended by a physician I work with, who spoke very positively about the property and its management. The location and amenities look beautiful, and several reputable websites, such as Homes.com, ApartmentFinders.com, and Rent.com, showed that multiple two-bedroom units would be available soon. Because my husband and I are in the process of selling our home and looking for a peaceful place to live, I reached out to schedule a tour with my realtor. However, I was informed via email that there were no units available and was advised to keep checking the website. Another update from my favorite apartment , of course I re-signed my lease , I need to add that they do an incredible job with the snow removal and I wanted to add that because we have had a terrible winter so far and the people in the complex have done an incredible job in cleaning and clearing the complex. This is only to update the fact that again I want to share I sign my lease to our apartment complex we call home, probably will not be telling anything new but is such a great place. This place is known as the “Taj Mahal of India Vernon,” but the reality is far from luxurious. While the landscaped grounds may give the impression of a well-maintained property, don’t be fooled — the issues run deep. The area is plagued by high crime, stolen packages, and a troubling number of registered sex offenders both in and around the complex. Safety is a real concern here. Beyond that, the overall environment feels neglected and chaotic. If you're looking for a secure, peaceful place to live, this is not it. Do your homework — and consider safer options.
