Janie Schmidt’s actions were unprofessional when she requested a 3% commission instead of the standard 2.5% commission when her client made an offer to us. We had already provided nearly $14,000 worth of seller concessions, and our realtor, despite her significant efforts in selling our house for over three months, only received a 2.5% commission. The original agreement stipulated a 5% commission split between the two real estate agents. It appears that Janie’s actions were not solely motivated by her client’s interests but rather by a desire to maximize her own compensation. Therefore, we strongly advise against engaging with Janie Schmidt or her realty company.
