Riverview Manor Apartments

No where near worth what they ask in rent. I was paying $974 a month for: Windows that either got stuck or didn't stay open at all. There was water damage and wood rot with ALL windows. 0 ventilation in the bathroom besides a tiny window that did nothing. When the bathroom steamed up you could see the yellow streaks on the walls from what I'm assuming was previous people smoking inside. The bathroom sink did not drain properly because the pipe was too small. The tub constantly dripped no matter how tight you turned the knobs. Kitchen also had 0 ventilation and the wood rot in my kitchen was CRAZY. Which they tried to cover up with layers on layer of paint. Said paint that was bubbling, cracked and peeling away from the walls mind you. Paint was like this throughout the entire apartment. A

The maintenance people do a good job most of the time when you need them.

I moved into these apartments this year about 4 months ago. Leasing agent was very up front about the structure of the apartment, the old style of it, and etc. I have no problems with the apartment. I like how maintenance is fast and reliable, I like the non-refundable pet fee, and I like how the courtyard is always kept clean. I will say that if you don’t like noise at all and love to live a quiet lifestyle then these apartments aren’t for you. Some residents may have kids (like me) and they tend to make noise. Being how old these apartments are, you are more than likely to hear everything from other apartments. I, myself hear everything from my upstairs neighbor and my neighbor across from me; which doesn’t bother me. But I bring this up because other neighbors may not want to hear toddl

The very first night I was here I was woken up at 5am by someone revving their motorcycle. This happened nearly every day for months and was a good insight to the neighbors. People regularly blasted music, their TV, or just stomped and made noise at all hours including well past midnight. Contacting management sometimes helped, but not always. Part of the issue is the apartments are old, but I think the bigger issue is people are inconsiderate and that really lets this place down. The apartments themselves are utilitarian and no frills, but an alright size for a single person. Two people, even in a two bedroom, is a tight squeeze. I'm brand-new to Riverview Manor and am very happy to call this place Home. If anything changes I will update! A few things of note: 1. Upon moving in and handing over your keys, they go through a brief inspection. It was noted the kitchen faucet had a leak during mine. Maintenance was over within the hour to replace the faucet but it would have been nice to have that taken care of prior to move-in day. Moving is stressful enough! 2. The place is CHARMING! Nice hardwood floors and freshly painted white walls. Every room is beyond pleasant. 3. I've been a renter for more than three decades and so far, am happier with Riverview than any other place I've lived. I've lived in newer buildings and I've lived in older buildings and I prefer older buildings by far. They are more solid.
