Marathon Management

This was the worst rental screening process I have ever been through. If you have pets, don't bother renting here. They use 3rd parties for everything and no one knows the truth of a persons application status. My roommates and I completed our application but bc they use a 3rd party to do the pet screening it took 2 extra weeks just to review our application. We had to sign an addendum just to fix the pet screening issue that was holding up the application. We finally got the pet situation sorted out and were informed that we were approved. We were so happy and excited. We confirmed scheduling with our employers so we could move and reserved moving trucks, only to be called later that day to be informed there was a "mistake" and we were actually denied. We spent the rest of the day calling

Absolutely awful management company. Filled with rude staff and money hungry managers. Water bill always seems to be inaccurate and they use their own “telemetry system”.. All around, my partner and I are so glad we moved out. Nothing but a disappointment to pay a lot of money for cheap construction and managers that don’t ever want to help or “be there” for their tenants. As soon as you move in, they don’t care about your needs. Awful, just awful. Renters beware.

0 stars if I could. I just tried dropping off my rent check like my Property Management told me and the old lady at the front desk was rude right off the back. Then she walks away. Goes into a room with another man and lady and closes the door behind them. They don’t have sound proof doors. They talk about my friend and I who are in their waiting room. Then start to laugh obnoxiously. She then comes out the room. Just keeps walking and tells me David would be out. She couldn’t even stop to talk to me. Nor make eye contact. David comes out and ask what do we need. I let him know I was there to pay my rent like I have done in the previous months. He states we don’t do that here. If you value your time, money and sanity DO NOT MOVE to any property run by Marathon Management Inc.. Especially if David Black (VP of Property Management) and/or Myrna Lakey (Bridgeton Apartments Resident Manager) still work for Marathon. I waited two months to post this review for fear of retaliation from the aforementioned employees as it was one of their favorite tactics, amongst other unprofessional, incompetent, and intimidating behavior, while I was a tenant. For example, when I told David Black that a Marathon employee was spreading personal information about me to other tenants and smoking at the non-smoking property he said, "No need to be a tattletale." Myrna Lakey yelled at me when I told her my neighbor’s apartment balcony smelled so bad it was coming into my apartment, saying

As with most of the reviews, Marathon management - Bridgeton, Apartments of six and Marine Drive has tried to overcharge me $1800 for the carpet said they were many many stains, but Marathon management, understand that I took video footage of the carpets and they’re in very good repair And they charged for cleaning 220 something dollars in cleaning…. What cleaning? Don’t you clean after move out? I have been studying Property Management to become a property manager and I know the process.
