Manor View Apartments

This is a decent place to live for the money you are spending. There are no amenities. There is a shared washer and dryer in each. Holding which has 8 units each. No one comes by to clean the common area or the laundry room so hopefully yourself or one of your neighbors is kind enough to keep the halls in a decent condition. The lease says there are no dogs allowed but there are plenty in the property. Take them around back where they can run and stay cool :-(. The maintenance crew is probably one of the only good things about this place…that is if they can keep them. The management staff….FORGET ABOUT IT!!!! I lived in these apartments in 2013. Terrible, terrible place. When we stayed there we were only given one parking spot for a 2 vehicle household. The bathroom and kitchen were outdated and needed some TLC. they had roaches that started to appear some 2 weeks after we settled in well. Our neighbor had roaches also. We moved in in January, tried to give our lease to SEVERAL other possible tenants, to no avail. Finally, I had enough of the roaches and terrible management and decided to leave on Labor Day, while paying for the month of September that I wasn't there. 11 years later, they're trying to garnish my wages for the last 2 months I wasn't there. The same 2 months they were probably collecting rent on as the apartment was move in ready (aside from raoches) and was a great apartment in

Ms. Walker is amazing… she has assisted me with all my rental needs… she is always available to answer any questions and concerns and is very kind. The property and unit is very clean and well kept.

The neighborhood is pleasant, there are no problems with noise or vandalism. The site is decently maintained. The only issue that is bothersome is the property manager. She tends to have an attitude and that in itself is unpleasant enough. However, this is a great apartment complex. Neighbors are friendly enough and their are plenty of kids, yet they are all so well behaved. 5 mins from Chesapeake Square Mall, Target and Wal mart. There are laundry facilities in each building complex and we are around the corner from 2 laundrymats. Plenty of restaurants in the vicinity and 5 mins from victory crossing. 12 mins from the Shipyard. Affordable and one of the few places in Portsmouth that are not income restricted. All in all this is a decent place to live.

The property manager Kia is very unprofessional along with her sidekick the maintenance woman or man I’m not sure of gender. They discussed tenant information openly and freely often without thinking of tenants privacy. The maintance person mentioned earlier tried entering my apartment without prior written notice. When I say tried I mean put the key in the door until I answered. Last but not least Kia has avoided calls and messages after verifying the security deposit was charged for the last water bill even though the water bill was paid in full. She said a refund would be issued and now she can’t be reached. I don’t blame her for her lack of education and professionalism I blame Meredith Mangement for employing her. I do not recommend Manor View Apartments and I do not recommend Meredit
