Independence Square

Independence Square Apts are great in my opinion, They work with you especially if your honest and straight forward. They give you and opportunity to regain Independence by giving you a home you can be proud of. I love the property it feels like home. Jocelyn Freeman is a very fair property she treats people how she wants to be treated, She is straight forward with class and integrity.There hasn't been any issue you that she didn't make sure was fixed, her and her staff Dee and Juan have been great! I plan on being here until my son finishes high school because it's that comfortable. Independence Square has given me an opportunity to raise my autism son in a comfortable place with no worries.....

Sunday, my car was towed from visitors parking without any notice. I had to find out my car was taken after I completed my respite care for my client. According to them my stickers were expired. When I confronted the office about it the following day, Jocelyn (or Joshlyn) said they didn't have to follow any towing law because of a clause in their lease. When I asked their tenant about it, they had no idea that clause was there. Additionally, the only signage regarding towing is one sided. You can't see it when you're walking up and can barely read it driving in. I asked to speak to a supervisor, she stated she's on vacation and doesn't know when she'll be back. They have roaches, the maintenance men never come and fix anything. I have had a mouse living in my cabinet for a month now and had to tape it shut because no one won’t come get it. I’m afraid it’s going to get out. I have two children under 4 and they still won’t do anything. I had a leak in my ceiling and they only painted over it!!! I could go on about this place. Not to mention the rent keep going up with all these problems

Don’t waste your time. I moved in February 2023 and moved out November 2023. I couldn’t even finish my year least. My apartment was infested with roaches. I was scared to put food in the cabinets. On top of that, I had a rat running around my apartment that was eating through the roach baits. My fridge went out within a week of moving in, and all their appliances are so outdated. The most disgusting complex I have ever lived in. I had to get my children out of there. That property needs to be shut down.

I was a resident for 12 years. Do not rent to this place. 1st unprofessional, ghetto office staff, maintenance steals and big turnover in management. Now since I'm leaving they are railroading me to get an apartment. Crime is at all time high shootings etc. Very dishonest office staff. Only for section 8 not for the everyday working people. I urge u to run the other way. Pool also closed due to old men hanging around looking at your children. B warned.
