Hidden Harbor House

I've lived in several apartments in 30+ years of my life and Hidden Harbor House is the best by far. A building that was going to be a hotel but became an apartment building instead. The space was more than adequate for a single guy like me. Beginning with a large entryway (that became storage for boxes and lesser used items). A big bathroom with an updated vanity and drawers, a large mirror with fancy lighting and an older medicine cabinet. While there is no closet there is a cutout space in the hall that separates the bathroom and living space with a rack that became my closet for hanging clothes and other storage. The living space is massive. Plenty of space for my bed and desk and my own racks for clothing and storage. And the tiniest kitchen I have ever known and it was just perfect.🙂

This place is a great place to start if you're moving into your first apartment. It's way more affordable than other places and pretty big for a studio. Management is really good about getting things fixed quick and they are very responsive. Also, Des Moines is a safe area to live in and this complex is 10 minutes from the light rail station, close to the freeway, nearby convenient and grocery stores making it a great location.

Me and my wife lived here and it was a great experience. We were able to bring up any issues or concerns we had and Jason and Selina would get back to us ASAP. Although the place is small it’s a great spot to start out and branch out, Rent is cheap and all utilities were covered as well. Highly recommend if you’re a student or military to check this spot out.! Keep in mind the kitchen area is super small so we recommend you buy a table or two to store pots and pans and so you can have some cooking workspace maybe even a spice rack.

Under Alias- don’t live here if you can avoid it. Rent is cheap but cars and mailbox constantly gets broken into. Side doors are not locked so anyone can walk into building and steal packages (happened to me). Had people try my door or knock at odd times. The worst of it is that my apartment was INFESTED with cockroaches. I suspect more than just my apartment was- this is not suitable for living or renting.
