City & County Credit Union - Maplewood

I trust this bank and its staff. That says alot now days. I joined, as a Teacher, when my kids were in grade school and now my grandkids are starting high school. I almost got scammed and the staff caught it. Wow, respectful banking, with an institution that cares about customers! I bought a car & loan with car search sevices. My 2012 Toyota is still running & no repairs ever!

I have been a member of City & County Credit Union and used their Mastercard responsibly, often paying one full month ahead. I repeatedly went into the branch and made double payments in person, clearly instructing the teller that one payment was for the current month and the second payment was for the following month. These payments were accepted and posted, and my account statements clearly showed no payment due until a future date, confirming the account was paid ahead. Despite this, City & County Credit Union reported a late payment to the credit bureaus, damaging my credit. I provided extensive proof, including payment records and statements showing the account was not past due. Multiple employees acknowledged that the payments were made and that there was no actual missed payment.

They are always "sorry" about something. We've been members for over 30 years and have never had such terrible customer service as we have in the last 10 years. Since our "person" retired, they treat us like we are newbys and don't know us at all. If we wouldn't have to start over building a new history at a new financial facility, we'd be long gone from CCCU.

It is really sad to see this once great Credit Union descend so far down in the abyss of horrible customer service. I have been a member for over 30 years and always enjoyed my CCCU experience. No more. Long waits on the phone, only to get someone on the other who barelyl speaks or understands English. If I do get an English speaker there is usually an issue that they can't address. The 15 day hold on third party checks is absurd. There are a few bright spots and there are those people who do know what they are talking about, but they are far and few between. If it were easier to close this account and transfer all of my banking to a different institution, I would. Pay attention CCCU, you aren't getting any better.
