Canary Hill Apartments

Apartments are affordable, in a decent area, and has a proactive property manager. Buildings are old and not the most maintained (expected of a cheap apartment) but Korrine the property manager makes up for it by being very good at her job and addresses issues in a timely manner. The Sun Ray area of Saint Paul is also very nice in my opinion. Apartment is walking distance to plenty of grocery stores, restaurants, bus stops, and etc. Neighbors are nice and everyone mostly keeps to themselves. Never had anyone too noisy or anything in my building. Hillsberry apartments are also extremely affordable making them very desirable during these uncertain economic times. I lived there Feb 2024 to Feb 2025. Korrine and the crew were awesome! Great communication, clear and never pressured. They were reasonably prompt and complete with repair requests. I am a transplant, and it was a great first place to land and I appreciate Korrine being personable. The other tenants were respectful, quiet and friendly. They minded their own business. the mail man was very nice too! the apartments were spacious and at a great price.

Please keep in mind, my review is from like 2020? I lived there for a year before buying my own house (that I am now desperately trying to sell). The place is def older, which means you can hear your neighbors next door if they bump walls, etc. I always take top floor because I have sensory sensitivities, so I can't speak to what it's like under, but I remember trying not to be too bothersome. I had a neighbors downstairs who would try t play music that would vibrate the building, and each time I had to complain because, as I said, I have sensitivities, and Korinne would take care of it. She was always on, and honestly, she shouldn't be. You can hear people through their doors but that's fine in the hallway. It doesn't really extend into the apartments. I gave it some time before I would give a review. I’ve been living here 6 months now. Application was fast and easy. Korrine has been helpful throughout our entire stay here, she is always quick to respond. Anytime we need assistance maintenance is always there first thing in the morning. We’ve had toilet clogs due to the children putting toys in there, we’ve had to replace our door lock because my husband broke the tip of the key and it got stuck inside. Winter months are cold in Minnesota. I recommend getting an electric heater that doesn’t eat up a lot of electricity. There is heating in the building but if you are like me, you may want a heater. Worse place to live at. Can’t be loud, can’t do anything. Even if you have a mental breakdown and you call the cops to come help you give you resources, neighbors snitch to the landlord and you get in trouble. Everything is poorly managed. She said no pets besides cats yet my husband saw neighbors bringing dogs in she and he brought it up to the landlord Korrinne or however you spell her name, she told my husband not to say anything or she will get in trouble. Well, guess what? Just for her licking is out because we violated the lease due to my own mental health issue we will bring it up to upper management. This is not an ide place to live. Weed smoker and cigarette smokers everywhere in the building. We’re moving out anyway so don’t bother moving here. You can’t be loud yet the neighbors
