Review 901 I previously resided at 901 Lofts this past academic year. Here is a list of things that occurred: * Arrived on move in day to find my apartment filthy. Spent the next three days (not exaggerating) cleaning the apartment while simultaneously trying to move my stuff out of my storage unit. Was told by management that people had “different standards of clean.” We found gunk in the cabinets, dirt caked on the windowsills so much that the windows wouldn’t open properly, dirt coating the ceiling (yes, we did even attempt to clean the ceiling over my lofted bed so I wouldn’t get in contact with it), the air filter being caked on with dirt and paint, etc. * Called the maintenance crew to check if there was a mold issue because I had the worst allergies in that apartment ever. I am not

Lived here for a year -- you can't really beat the location and I was in easy walking distance to a lot of great stuff in Lawrence. Maintenance was also surprisingly quick to respond 80% of the time. However, the two major cons living here were the paper-thin walls and just how overpriced everything was. I could clearly understand what my neighbors argued about or what they said when they had friends over, and there was a dog on the floor above me who liked to bark incessantly. First Management has pretty much taken over the nicer downtown apartments so they predictably raised the rent higher than it reasonably should be, because they can. I also made sure I deep cleaned my apartment on my way out and they still charged me over $250 in cleaning charges after I moved out for things I KNOW

I have been renting at 901 lofts in Lawrence since August 2013. I am there during the academic year (August-May). Last year the tenant two floors up was running on his treadmill and blasting his music at 5:45 am. Several other tenants and I complained, and Kristen, the district manager, essentially ignored us and refused to take actions. Eventually, the last office manager they hired took care of the situation. In the meantime, Kristen offered that I move to another unit. We agreed that I would pay another security deposit (which I did) and keep my furnitures in the old unit until July 31, at which time I would have them moved to the new unit. In July she claimed, through the office (I have tried to reach her and left her two messages which she never returned), that she never made that pro

Live anywhere else with any other management. I signed room 405, and when I moved in I was handed room 303 keys. I brought the issue up to management and I was told since I had already signed the agreement to receive my keys that’s what I got. Even though I paid the security deposit the day I was shown the unit to ensure that’s the layout I got. I was later informed they had actually sold my room to somebody else, later on. First management does NOT care about their tenants. Furthermore, the 3rd floor is right above the gym so each morning I am woken up to heavy weights slamming the ground, around roughly 7-8am, daily, it’s great. Save yourself the money and stress and live anywhere else

I live on the top floor and even here, the noise is unbearable. The walls are paper thin. I know why one of my neighbors broke up with his fiance-because she wanted her bridal gown paid for by the groom's family. I could hear the fights and things being thrown around and her slamming the door at 3 4 am. What is more, the Summit pretends to be a powerlifting gym. so even on the top floor, when people are deadlifting 400 lbs of weight, my entire living room shakes. It would be one thing if the staff took the complaints seriously. But since Brooke left the staff has been an ever changing crop of KU undergrads or dropouts who only sit on their phones and respond via social media to shut down any criticism. Nothing is ever taken seriously-the staff tried to enforce rules about the pool or mask
