Walker Avenue Apartments

The rooms are better than anywhere else on campus, and Room D in each apartment is by far the most spacious. That’s about where the positives end. Management and the office staff are unhelpful and completely disorganized. They expect you to pay outrageous fees on the spot—anywhere from $1k to $10k — and while they offer payment plans, the charges themselves are often unnecessary. I stayed here my junior year, and they made moving over the winter an absolute nightmare. Management even gave away a room I had already booked to someone else due to their own mistake, yet never took responsibility. While parking is decent, UMBC will block off spots whenever they feel like it, and there’s a huge lot right next to a Walker building that they won’t let residents use (another money grab). Save yours

I’ve lived in this apartment for a couple of months and unfortunately, the experience has been disappointing. The management is unresponsive and inconsistent, with many maintenance issues left unresolved. Hot water is unreliable, and appliances or common areas are frequently broken. When we moved in, the carpets were already stained and dirty, showing a lack of proper cleaning. At one point, we also had a mice problem—while it was eventually handled, it was a frustrating issue to deal with. The walls are incredibly thin, making it hard to have any peace and quiet. For the price, this place is simply not worth it. The quality of living does not match the cost, and I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a well-maintained and properly managed home.

I lived in Walker for a year, my senior year for that matter and the management office is the worst people to set foot on this earth. The rooms are old and appliances are constantly breaking down throughout the entire year. We were paying 5200 and semester! during a snow storm we had no heat for 2 days and we called the maintenance office they said there’s nothing they could do because it’s weekend, it wasn’t until I called UMBC police that we are freezing to death and then they sent someone to give us space heaters. Gregory J CapecciIs is the worst thing that happened to walker, he’s rude, inattentive and doesn’t care about anything or anyone’s wellbeing, all he cares about is making sure that students pay their money on time and if you don’t he will harass you and try to embarrass you.

Best housing option on campus, with full kitchen, washer dryer, and living room area. Rooms are single and have a decent amount of space. Most apartments are 4-person rooms, with doubles and singles also available. Only downside is no elevators, so you will have to walk up stairs to higher floors

This place has so many problems and the they charge way more than it's worth. The emergency lights barely work, the heat/hot water breaks all the time, the power goes out all the time, management has poor communication with residents, parking is a joke and worst of all it's inaccessible for disabled people. I would never live here again and for anyone considering, be prepared to get overcharged. Live in other umbc res life housing or just live off campus. This place is not worth $845 a month.
