The Overlook at Crystal Lake

Decline in Quality and Management This property has become disgusting over time. Residents use the grounds as a personal trash can — garbage is everywhere and never cleaned by management. The landscaping is neglected, with more dead trees than living ones, urine-soaked patches of mud, un-shoveled steps, and plastic visible under the rocks. Don’t bother inviting guests — there’s no visitor parking, and anyone parking near the church will get towed. Management does not respond to emails about trash, elevator messes, or hallway conditions (which often smell of cat urine). In three years here, the exterior windows have never been cleaned. This place continues to be the worst property I’ve lived at, staff is never on site & management does not care about the property. There are a lot of large breed aggressive dogs on property. Most expensive trashiest place to live south of the river. Property continues to be miss managed even after trying to find someone in now the new management company that cares.. same terrible attitudes. Today is 12/8/25 multiple residents have expressed their concerns to new management and continue to be hit with complete unprofessionalism and retaliation. Half of the first floor smells like marijuana today and they continue to not care about safety.

We lived in the Overlook at Crystal Lake for 1.5 years and we really loved every second. The apartment itself has a great layout, the building is extremely clean and the staff keeps it in great condition, Ben (the apartment manager) is also amazing and so great at communicating, and the wildlife outside is SO fun to watch. We would see deer, turkeys, etc all the time and its a view you wont get at any other complex. If you're considering the Overlook as your next home, absolutely do so. You wont regret it!

I’ve been living at the Overlook for several months now, and I’m beyond impressed with the level of management here, especially the new property manager! From day one, the team has been incredibly responsive, professional, and welcoming. Whenever I've had a question or maintenance request, they've addressed it quickly and efficiently, often going above and beyond to ensure everything is taken care of. The management team is always friendly and approachable, and it’s clear that they genuinely care about the residents and the building's upkeep. The common areas are well-maintained, and any issues that arise are resolved promptly. It's rare to find such a dedicated team, and it truly makes all the difference in creating a comfortable, hassle-free living experience. Highly recommend!
