Portico Apartments

If you are moving from abroad or out of state, do not trust the old reviews mentioning Virginia. Since she left, the management at Portico (ZRS) has become a masterclass in apathy. My relocation to the US was treated with a "computer says no" attitude at every turn. The Reality of Living Here: Lack of Communication: It took months to get basic move-in questions answered, making international planning a nightmare. I was told some temporary member of staff was answering my questions and then left. Inflexible Logistics: They demanded a cashier’s check for the deposit at the last minute with no alternatives - no to wire transfer, no to card payment, no to throwing bank notes in their face - ignoring the fact that new arrivals need quite a bit of time to open US bank accounts. I’m finishing up a 15 month lease at Portico, and it’s been a good experience overall. The community is well kept, the lake view is beautiful, and the gym is solid. Most importantly, Nicole was outstanding—always helpful, responsive, and patient (and I’m a picky tenant). She really made a difference. I’d definitely recommend Portico to anyone.

This place with always feel like home. I moved here in 2019 left for a year and came back in 2023 till now. It’s quiet, clean, and the other residences are pretty friendly. Lots of families with kids and almost everyone is out walking in the evenings. The maintenance is always on top of the service requests the front office with nicole, Marie, and Marjorie are nice and accommodating and was always helpful to any of my concerns. The security ms. Tawana became one of my favorite people in the world!! They are always changing this place adding new things like a mini mart and a package room, they always have events for residence every month and food trucks. Portico is a wonderful place to call home. The buildings are always spotless and beautifully maintained, and the maintenance team does a great job keeping everything in top shape year-round. You can really tell how much care goes into keeping the community running smoothly. Marjorie, the property manager, is truly amazing. She’s always there when you need her and responds to emails and concerns so quickly and thoughtfully. Whether it’s an urgent issue, a simple question, or a lease update, she handles everything with such professionalism and kindness. You never feel like just another tenant, she truly cares about the residents and goes out of her way to make sure everyone feels comfortable and supported. We really love living at Portico. We especially like how clean and well-maintained everything is, and how friendly the staff is.
