Rick Scherer was our lender who did an outstanding job. We were caught off guard with our lease and owner wanted us to buy or vacate within 60 days. We originally reach out to local lenders who told us to come up with 60k cash or advise we rent in a different town because it just wasn’t possible. Rick got us approved same day with no money down. No back and forth, easy to work with, professional, polite and most of the time seemed to be the only person on our side and advocating for us, as the realtor fumbled at every step. Planet Home Lending has provided the worst customer service I have ever received from any company, ever. We are trying to combine our 3 parcels into one single parcel in order to have our septic system replaced. We have a renovation loan attached to our mortgage specifically for the septic replacement. The parcel combination is a requirement of our local township before they will allow the septic work, and a release from Planet is also required by the township. Planet has been largely uncooperative in providing this release, stating outright that they cannot provide a release, thus preventing our failing septic from being replaced which we are paying for via our mortgage payments to Planet directly. We have spent hours on hold before speaking to an American who provides no help.

Planet Home Lending has been the most unprofessional and frustrating mortgage servicer I’ve ever dealt with. For months, my attorney and I have submitted multiple complete loss-mitigation and deed-in-lieu packages for a property we can no longer afford and cannot sell. Every single time, Planet Home Lending claimed they “never received” documents — including the same attorney authorization form they acknowledged earlier. It feels like every submission is ignored, lost, or mishandled. Their communication is terrible. They do not return calls, do not respond to my attorney, and every representative gives a completely different answer. Nothing is documented correctly, and nothing is consistent. Not helpful at all. Tried multiple times trying to dispute incorrect information on my credit report with no luck. I ended up calling 3 times and there is no way to talk to a supervisor or manager because they are supposedly busy (BS) and they promise a phone call back which never happens!!! You waste so much time on the phone with no solution. I feel like going to the BBB at this point!

I have had the absolute WORST experience with Planet. They paid out 2 homeowners insurance policies, and I covered the difference in my escrow. They never processed it as an escrow payment and my mortgage increased significantly. I’ve requested documents that I have never received and spent hours on the phone with these people getting absolutely nowhere. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO LOSE THOUSANDS OD DOLLARS
