Horrible experience. Our toilet RAINED thru the ceiling into the downstairs bathroom. I would tell them the toilet was leaking and they would not respond to me. Their service guy is great! It just needed fixing more than what he did each time. We go to check out, gave them a 45 day notice, but had to pay for a final full month even though it was over the 60 day notice. We then cleaned it MULTIPLE times and they kept telling us we needed to clean ridiculous things: under the fridge, behind the fridge, above the cabinets, etc. Let me tell you, when we moved in those things were NOT cleaned. They then charge us because the ceiling fan was not clean, tub not cleaned, counter in bathroom not cleaned, drawers not cleaned, etc. Yet you can see from each of the pictures, it is clean! Renting from Modern Property Management was one of the worst rental experiences I have ever had and I would highly suggest looking into other options if you are considering this company. I have never gone out of my way to write a bad review, but I just want to save others from the mess that I dealt with. In the spring of 2020, I signed a lease starting July 1, 2020 for what I thought was going to be the most perfect house - then came mid June we were told that the house was not ready for us and confirmed that we could move in on the 15th of July. PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU RENT! Terri Borgen, the so called Property Manager is very terrible! I regret moving here because I saw the signs but chose to give her the benefit of the doubt and she’s proven me right! Terri is full of excuses, attitude, and a very very poor communicator! For one, she does not and has not set up any other form of payment for rent besides having to drive to moorhead every month to an old skeptical looking mailbox to drop off rent with all the technology available today! She purposely ignores every text and chooses when she wants to respond. But miss a payment and she suddenly remembers you exist! Very Rude manager called screaming about rent not being paid on time. Said 3 o'clock was deadline. I said I have it in at 5 on Friday and she said NO it's late. Looking at lease she is incorrect. Appliances didn't work... Move out; tried to get together but no one was available when I could take the time off Manager did a walk out without me charging me for replacing carpet ( asked for receipt ) never received. Charged for cleaning said stove and refrigerator was filthy..SPOT FREE I CLEANED AT LEAST 40 hours of this place and have witnesses. Sent me a bill for a months rent???? Never rent from them! Charged for electric while others had moved in have pictures!!!!!

Not organized at all. "Missplaced" our rent one month. very rude. Gave no notice when coming to show the apartment and than feels it's okay to call a week later to tell us we live like pigs. Can never seem to get a hold of the manager (not the assistant, who seems to not know about anything going on) during regular working hours. Called in about the dryer being broken when we moved in, still never got fixed 6 months later. Horrible renting experience.
