Mentor Square Apartments

Recommendations to everyone, don't make a mistake like me! I lived in Mentor square apt on two occasions. First time in a two-room apartment 2012-2016 and the owners were excellent. The second time I lived in a one-room apartment 2021-2024 and I was very disappointed and regretted it. The new owners and management were terrible, unprofessional and irresponsible! They almost never return the deposit to anyone and find some reason to keep it. Let me mention that I paid the rent regularly and 13 days in advance every month. I duly and on time sent the note about my departure. I left the apartment undamaged and cleaned everything. I can prove everything, but they again decided to keep my $950 deposit, even though I'm not to blame, it's them and their irresponsible behavior and communication.

There are many ups and downs to this complex. The price is definitely not worth what you get. The laundry rooms consistently have mechanical issues, and it’s a slow process to get them to work. Many people go to the laundry mat close by. My apartment was “newly renovated” but has many aspects that were half-done. The walls were gross, and the fixes that were done were just smacked on there, with no sanding or paint. Along with no major cleaning was done to the unit, and the fridge was definitely just set on top of a gross floor. The maintenance guys do their best based on what they were left from the last one, I’ve been here for 2 years and they’ve got through at least 3 that I know of. Only one apartment is updated.Trash is over flowing out of the dumpsters (often)and fined by the City . No landscaping unless you do it on your own. Grass not cut very often. Homeless lady living in laundry/storage room. One tenant fights with girlfriend and cops are called, she's not on the lease only him, been happening for years. No amenities, no updates. Everybody pays a different amount for rent . No snow removal from sidewalks or parking lot. I think it's a good location and I like most of my neighbors but some apartments are being rented short term (weekly,monthly) from what I've heard. For the price, I was hoping for better, was told updates are coming but haven't seen it.

Lived here for 3 years and loved it! The community and landlords are great. Things are always done on time and the rent is pretty affordable for the convenient location. I think this apartment complex is perfect for post grad and grad students. No complaints here.

Do not live here if you actually want stuff fixed. Went 3 months in the dead of winter with no heat. Literally took me calling the city for them to get on it.
