Matthews Lofts

Lived here for 6 years. Never a complaint about me or delayed payment. I left November of ‘25. I informed Duke Energy of my departure. For some reason I’m still receiving a bill for December and January. I’ve contacted management at matthews Lofts and they refuse to take responsibility for energy I could not have used.. I’ve asked if they could pay it or reimburse me if I pay it, but I’m getting nowhere. So they think me paying the energy for them or a new tenant there is the right thing to do instead of taking responsibility. It’s honestly bewildering. I left Matthews Lofts because they raised the rent every year and gave zero wiggle room. $100 increase on average each year. I wouldn’t have brought this to light to anyone looking at this place to live, but the unjust way I’m being treated

Had a scheduled, confirmed tour that I received reminders for yet no one was there when I came to tour. No one in the office answered the phone or door. I also received an email stating that I “submitted a rental application at Matthews Lofts. We need to collect additional information from you in order to finalize your application.” I never started an application.

I love the convenient location for walking downtown. My apartment was clean and well-maintained upon move-in. Neighbors are quiet and respectful. Maintenance requests are addressed quickly. Nazly was sweet and accommodating.

I’ve lived here for 4 years. I can tell you speaking to someone is like pulling teeth. The communication is absolutely terrible. They have changed billing apps and links to stuff 4 times in one year. Location wise fantastic amenities wise forget about it. Management and service wise is completely not present.

Nazly Rivera in the lease office was very helpful during the initial lease process and for check out. We did have some issues while there - (1) dryer wasnt drying and took awhile and multiple maintenance staff visits to get it running (had to go somewhere else to wash clothes), (2) AC wasnt working and also took multiple maintenance visits to fix and was during a particularly warm timeframe, (3) both vehicles stolen from parking lot (and apparently other vehicles were broken into that same night). No outside security cameras at the complex. Glad we weren't there very long.
