The moment I arrived, I instantly fell in love with this building and area. Located in the historical district of Peterburg. I was pleasantly surprised by all of the old-world touches and small-town charm. There is sooo, sooo much charter, coupled with all the finest convinces like elevators and the modern kitchens, which checked off all the boxes in my book. The apts are so different then that other places, they have some very unique floor plans with expose plumbing, ventilation and those high ceilings are everything. I was extremely impressed with the quality and workmanship, it was of that of a high-end condominium for 500k. I moved into here just under a year ago and intend to renew my lease. I enjoy living here. I enjoy the old architecture. The floor plans are substantial (I live in a 2BR/2BA). The neighborhood is lovely and quite walkable. I stroll downtown both day and night for restaurants, shopping and nightlife. I have lived in different apartments before and have always hated them. I am usually quick to get out and find a house. I enjoy the community here. There are cons. You will 100% hear neighbors above you. The building is old and creaky. Water pressure can be hit or miss sometimes. The pros of a pool, gym, community rooms, community, ease of commute, property management all greatly outweigh any negatives. High Street Lofts has the potential to be a beautiful place to live, but out of state management is ruining it. Rents are way too high for the area & keep going up. Then the utilities fees get added on top of the high rent & the amenities like the pool full of algae are useless. The outside landscaping looks terrible with weeds all around the building, grass not being mowed & mulching not being done. The dumpsters are wide open in the parking lot, not in the enclosure & the enclosure is always full of old mattresses & furniture. The back parking lot has a huge pothole that keeps getting bigger & the trash receptacle by the back door is always overflowing. Management doesn't care about what the building looks like, inside or out because they don't live in the building. People say this place

I had a great experience at this property, thanks to the outstanding service from the property manager, Diontey. He was extremely polite, patient, and made me feel genuinely welcomed from the start. He took the time to listen to all of my questions and concerns, and made sure everything was addressed clearly and professionally. It’s rare to find someone so attentive and dedicated in property management. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a new home—especially if you value excellent communication and a supportive team. Diontey truly sets the standard!
