I moved into an apartment managed by Fineberg Companies at 1810 Commonwealth Ave and found it to be uninhabitable from the start. The unit smelled like trash, the bathtub was rusted and unsanitary, and there were visible gaps around the heat riser pipe that the property manager later admitted to in writing. These gaps are violations of the Massachusetts State Sanitary Code because they allow pests and moisture to enter. The bedroom also showed signs of dampness, another code violation that can cause mold and fungus. On top of this, the prior tenant’s belongings (water filter, mop, broom) were left behind, showing the unit wasn’t even properly cleaned. biggest cockroach infestation in their 1800 comm ave building. they come disrupt your lives with the amount of fumigations which never fix the problem. the board of health is no help because even though the cockroach issue doesn’t get resolved with the fumigation, they are technically doing their part by “trying” to fix the problem so there is nothing the boh can do. I moved out a few months early because of the amount of cockroaches infesting the apartment and they would not work with me at all despite the amount of weekly complaints of roaches. one other thing to note, is instead of actually cleaning before moving in, they paint the entire apartment white over and over so there is white pint drips everywhere. they even paint the tub then tell you not to put down any shower mats which is

Feinberg operates more like slumlords than a property management company—completely out of touch with what respectful tenant relations look like. If you’re thinking of renting from them, don’t. You’ll regret it.

They are the absolute worse. People have broken into our building in April and they did nothing. Then someone tries to break in again this week and refuse to alert the building to this threat. Do not rent from them.
