I lived here for 2 years, in two different apartments! When Nicole was the manager, everything was great! But after she left, everything went downhill, the service became very bad. When I moved out of the first apartment, my $300 deposit, which I paid upon moving in, was not used to cover the damage, and I was additionally charged $550. I paid everything because I thought that maybe my child and I had damaged the carpet. But after we moved out of the second apartment, we cleaned everything and repaired all the damage to the walls! And I was again charged $900 for damaged carpet, it's terrible!! I can't get through to the office, I wrote them a letter with photos two weeks ago and haven't received a reply!!! I lived at Creekside at Matthews for over a year and always paid my rent on time — more than $23,000 in total, plus insurance and a security deposit. I was a quiet, respectful tenant with no kids or pets, and I left the apartment clean and in good condition. After moving out, I was shocked to receive a bill for cleaning, carpet cleaning, painting, countertop resurfacing, bathtub resurfacing, and blinds — all normal wear and tear that every landlord is legally responsible for under North Carolina law (N.C.G.S. §42-51) and the lease agreement. I believe it is important to document these matters, as they significantly affected my comfort and the quality of life I expected when signing the lease agreement. 1. Constant noise from the upstairs apartment: During my stay, I lived in an apartment located on the second floor, and there was constant excessive noise coming from the unit above. This issue was persistent and made it extremely difficult to rest, to the point where it was nearly impossible to sleep peacefully at night. 2. If I could rate this place a ZERO out of five, I would. Staying here was truly such a terrible experience. My roommate and I lived here for a full year and I would warn anyone contemplating renting at this apartment to reconsider. There’s a really bad roach problem, I had to schedule biweekly pest control visits to keep the roaches from completely taking over our space, they were everywhere. Within the first two months of living here, there was mold in the master bathroom that maintenance originally just painted over instead of addressing the issue until several visits later. The trash wasn’t always picked up so there was random bags left in the entry ways and pathways. An excellent place to reside. I have moved to Bexley at Matthews in late January 2017 and since them having a pleasant stay. There are so many positive things to share , starting from the affordable price , large spacious apartments , knowledgeable and helpful staff members, 24X7 helpline and the quickest ticket resolution time. I would have given full five stars only if The Gym had few more equipment, apartments had been in newer(inside there are minor cracks and signs of wear & tear). However considering the benefits the downsides are minimum to complain about.
