I can not recommend this company. While we did have a very good experience with Kristi in their office...the lawyer they use there to advise them was completely unreasonable in their demands relative to title/plat requirements. In spite of us providing very reasonable arguments and paperwork their lawyer failed to listen to reason. This caused our closing to be pushed back two months and cost me $2500 in an unnecessary new survey I had to pay for. This survey was ridiculous as it simply showed everything we'd already shown them with other available plats...right down to the pins being in the exact same locations. This is a brief summation of a long, drawn out and frustrating experience. When the time comes for me to sell a very expensive piece of real estate I will inherit in Virginia...

100% unprofessional and deceitful. They caused a huge delay of funding of proceeds to my family and didn’t bother to communicate to us (the sellers). No one here wanted to take any kind of responsibility for their lack of following procedures and communication to my agent, agents broker, our title company and us the sellers. We had to wait over 4 days without the sale proceeds from our home and they just let the sale go through without paying us. Not even an apology, acknowledgement or anything with us having to hand hold and keep on top of them since they failed to wire our proceeds the same day of closing. It is rare to find an employee who cares about their customers or job anymore. It’s almost impossible to find one who goes above and beyond but one the employees here did for us. Ellyson was truly amazing to work with. Not only was she extremely responsive to communication but she went above and beyond to make sure we closed with as little issues as possible. She made calls for us, tracked down information and gave clear, concise information while still being polite and fun to work with. Uneducated on COVID. Out of courtesy, a positive case within our family was shared as we approached closing. Despite clear CDC guidelines of appropriate discontinuation of isolation, our closing date was cancelled and pushed out further. Even so, upon arrival the office staff were very uncomfortable and forced masking in order to proceed with closing tasks. We did not feel welcome or respected and will certainly choose alternate more professional agency to meet our future needs.

The closers at Colonial title are excellent they go above and beyond to make sure that the transaction gets closed on time. I have had a call from Ellyson at 8:30 in the evening because she is dedicate and a true professional.
