Moved in August 2024. Just now read the past reviews and I don't understand why they're so bad. I guess maybe they must have had a change of management or something because we had no issues moving in. My my only one gripe is that my wife says the living room is too small while the kitchen is massive. I mean they could've compromised the spaces but it is what it is

Buying our first home has been surprisingly easy, but closing has been miserable. We were supposed to close 2 days ago, but when we arrived to Empire, they informed us that our appraisal wasn't ready so our closing was delayed. They didn't bother to tell us, blaming the builder who in turn blamed Empire. We both took off work, drove an hour and a half in all, and had the utilities turned on at our property 2 days before we could close. Most importantly, we had a babysitter on the day we were supposed to sign. This morning, nobody was available so we brought our son to signing. They're blaming their covid policy as to why they wont let us wait in the lobby to let myself and my wife sign. So I'm forced to wait in my truck with my son and then switch. I’m just about done, there was a mistake done when closing and they are trying to keep my escrow money telling me a check can’t be cancelled or void so they can reissue your my actual insurance. Please if hear about this company font close with them it will save you the trouble if having to ask people to fix something that when we close they said it should be fine. I closed in October and here I am in January trying to still speak to them about a check reissue. Not to me but to my insurance or mortgage company

Based on the earlier review, nothing has changed. The person answering the phone is still terrible. The person answering the phone was the least of my problems. Empire Title made mistakes on my title paperwork. The manager at first denied that the mistakes originated in their office. It wasn't until they were confronted with the facts that they owned up to the mistakes. I was told months ago that the errors would be corrected and I would receive a deed to my home. After 6 months, multiple phone calls and emails, this is still not done. Save yourself from the frustration with dealing with such an unprofessional and incompetent staff.

Trying to figure out how to leave 0 stars for my first ever google review, that’s how miserable and awful my family’s experience with Empire Title was. Rude, incompetent, arbitrary “policies,” sloppy work, poor communication, and no accountability.
