Friendly staff and nice location. The lunge is amazing and the view is breathtaking if your unit is facing east river. Leasing agent Jason is very professional and knowledgeable and I appreciate his time touring the building.

The staff is very nice, but there are several issues with the building itself. Poor insulation in units, amenities regularly broken (flooded 10th floor, broken gym equipment), and the common areas are sometimes freezing (I guess to save money, but it’s seriously like, 50 degrees in the gym sometimes). Our move in was rushed, so the builders made some mistakes in our plumbing causing a leak. It took 5-7 days to replace our bathroom! This isn’t that big of a deal, but we aren’t really compensated for it. And it seems we aren’t the only unit with major issues. Exorbitant fees for the value. There are so many luxury buildings in LIC, at this point I’m not sure why you’d choose Aura. Below are some more problems. We had a very frustrating experience living in this building. Our electricity bill for a small one-bedroom apartment was over $800 for a single month, which is completely unreasonable for two people with normal usage. We asked the management multiple times to explain the situation and review the meter, but every time they just sent the same breakdown without actually addressing our concerns. There was basically no real communication or effort to help us understand why the HVAC usage was so high. It felt like they were just insisting that the bill was correct instead of trying to solve the problem. We tried to discuss this issue several times, but the attitude from management was very dismissive and unhelpful. I honestly would not recommend this building.

Staff and maintenance team are super friendly and responsive but this building has way too many issues for the price we are paying - A/C was broken for a long period of time in the summer - Dryer was broken when we moved in - Smoke detector was broken - Amenity fee is mandatory but the spaces are frequently closed or have issues with them (wifi down, heating broken in gym, flooded, etc.) - No hot water during the coldest days of the winter EDIT: Hot water has been in and out for over a week now. EDIT: It's been 3 weeks and hot water issue has not been solved. Especially brutal when it's 7 degrees out. Front desk and building Staff are very friendly (the best I have had seen!) and have great attitude but Management seems to handle complaints poorly - based on my experience and how they are responding to tenants online via google review. The building itself was poorly built - so many issues! Hot and cold water issues during winter, amenities sometimes not available due to flooding, internet in and out etc. There are so many building in LIC so I’m not sure why a new tenant paying thousands of dollars monthly would choose Aura.
