Uptowne Apartments

Do not live here! My car got towed in the middle of the night even though it has a parking permit on it and i pay for parking, the leasing office said it was my fault because my pass wasn’t in the right spot. I also got a parking ticket. They don’t empty out the dumpster so be prepared for trash to be spilling out into the parking lot, and of course the smell and bugs. My tub is also peeling and has been since i moved it and the dishwasher doesn’t close or start and has also been like that since i moved in. i have lived in many different apartments and houses in east lansing and i have never lived somewhere worse. for the low price of $1,200 you can live in a landfill where you pay $400 to pick up your towed car.

I had a great experience living at the Hull apartments. Tessa truly sets this place apart; she’s professional, responsive, and genuinely cares about the residents. Any time I had a question or needed assistance, she was quick to help and always friendly. I always knew it was going to be an easy fix when Paul would be involved too! The community was well-maintained, quiet, and felt like home. I appreciated how smoothly everything was handled, from move-in to move-out. I’d absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a well-managed, comfortable place to live. Thank you again to the staff and Tessa you made my time here even better!! I've lived here for almost 2 years and did not renew my lease. The management was disorganized and poor. While I think the staff are very kind and thoughtful, the head management does not put in the thought or effort into making sure that residents are attended to. For example: (1) One of my friends who used to live on the second floor. His upstairs neighbor had a dog who he would let toilet on his balcony and it would fall onto my friend's balcony. Management did nothing to alleviate the problem despite multiple complaints and office visits on the part of my friend. (2) Last year, my neighbor on the 3rd floor had someone shoot through her floor from their 2nd floor apartment. The management never alerted anyone in the apartments that this had occurred. Posting this to hopefully save some people the bad experience. Hunter Lansing Properties took over the apartment I was living in. Once they took over, so many things went wrong. We were constantly locked out of our apartment because they didn’t know how to work the electronic keys, we had billing issues, the water would go off for days at a time with last minute notice, the leasing office would never answer and when they did they were not kind. I would come home from work and notice that someone had used my bathroom and had been in my apartment while I wasn’t there (multiple times). I had to buy a camera and set it up in my apartment just to prevent this. They did not care to answer to any of our concerns. The list goes on and on. Paid my bill 3 days early, emailed payment confirmation to the leasing office, leasing office said they see it in the system. 3 days after rent is due they shut off my internet and told me it takes a day for it to be turned on again. Missed an interview and a day of work because they cant keep track of payments here. The office employees seem nice, but the ownership is shady, ruthless, and corrupt. There are plenty of places that offer more than what this place does.
