Thunder Ridge Apartments

I lived here from 2012 to 2015. I loved it here. The office manager (I forgot her name, maybe Candice) was so understanding. Maintenance was on point. The owner, Adam, is so cool. Rent was very reasonable. I recommend these apartments to everyone! I even had my own garage turning 45 dollars extra! I live in a big city in Maryland now and Thunder Ridge will always be my home! If I ever move back to the area I will move here in a heartbeat! I miss you all; you felt like family. In Candice is still there please thank her for me. She really watched my back in my early 20s!

I really enjoy living in these apartments. The neighborhood is really peaceful, the apartments are updated and cozy and the staff is really nice. If someone is looking for off campus living, it is only about 5 minutes from UNI and it is a good place to live in general not just for college students. They also just recently updated the area by the leasing office which includes a nice dog park and pickle ball court.

I haven't lived in an apartment for about 25 years, got a divorce, and moved my son and I here. I was worried about noise, landlords not caring about the property..but I've been here since Oct of 2019 and was pleasantly surprised. They are very responsive to maintenance requests, and phone calls. They have an online portal as well that makes it easy to pay rent, and file any maintenance requests. The maintenance team is nice, the office staff is always nice if have to interact with any of them, I often come home after work and can smell that someone cleaned the hallway. I love that! They take good care of their buildings. They allowed me to have a dog over 40 lbs. with an added monthly fee and even bring him treats when they come to do any necessary maintenance! I lived in these apartments for three years. Overall they were okay. The pros include: decent sized apartments, maintenance is usually quick to respond, competitive pricing, and they are in a good location. The cons are: The cost of rent was increased every year we lived there, the washers and dryers were frequently out of order, and the apartments needed updating. In our basement apartment we got water a couple times when it rained heavily. Also, like many of the reviews have mentioned do not expect your deposit back. We were charged for damage that was there before we moved in. After talking with management they did cut the charge in half since we told them it was there when we moved in, but we still ended up paying $150 for something we didn’t do. Am updating a prior review from a few years ago. My experience at TR is and has been very positive. Great, quiet CF location, in nice neighborhood yet close to everything. Apartment is fairly small but very adequate for current needs. Excellent large balcony makes unit feel bigger. Office staff is unfailingly polite, knowledgeable, and professional. Maintenance staff is super-responsive (same day or following day at the latest) and knows what they're doing and are able to quickly resolve any issues or requests. Grounds are attractive and well maintained. Very good crew all the way around!
