The Legends at Whitney Town Center

My sister and her husband moved in here a few years ago after dowsizing from their 2 floor, 3 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath, kitchen,dining room,living room, full basement home. Their apartment is laid out very well and is bright and roomy. She has organized several family events in the spacious common room. Their move was relatively easy , including the set up of their new home here. It is definitely senior living, so if you expect the sounds of children playing and laughing, this is not the place for you. When it is time for me to "retire" from my country farm life and the animals, I will be seriously considering The Legends @. If you are currently considering a move, The Lends would be a great place to start your search.

My husband Dave and I moved into Legends only a week ago but we have quickly come to learn that this is not just apartments for 55+ it is a caring community. Everyone that we have met have been so friendly and kind and helpful and it all started with Michelle the property manager. From my first telephone call with her she is very professional and eager to help. She knows everyone in this whole complex by name and truly cares about everyone that lives here. The owners are very lucky to have such a knowledgeable and wonderful lady taking care of their property. Michelle is genuinely a class act. Dave and I look forward to getting to know everyone here and are grateful to have found our new home.

I left after one year and am very happy I did. If you or a family member are considering living here, be prepared for significant rent increases each year ($100 plus per month) and an indifferent manager who can turn hostile on a dime. I have a dog and did not find the complex animal friendly (although some residents were very much so). One pesticide application was sprayed with no notice, and the signage was scanty for others (violating NYS law). After six months, I received an angry letter from management accusing me of letting my dog bark at 3 a.m. I had never done anything so absurd. Upon leaving, I was shaken down for nearly $200 to replace carpet padding my dog had NOT damaged. (Yes, you read it, I was forced to bankroll padding, not carpet. Michelle made our long distance move into The Legends as seamless as possible. The buildings offer so many amenities and everyone is so friendly and helpful. The apartment is spacious and has a lot of natural light. It didn’t take long for it to feel like home.

We've lived here just two short weeks, but we are so happy in our new home. Everything is first class in the apartment. The residents are very friendly and welcoming - even the dogs! Michelle was so helpful with the moving in process, and it's a comfort to know that Paul and Gary are available to assist us in any way they can. We truly feel our decision to move here was a good one!
