The Den Hunting Lodge

I lived here for several years as a graduate student until the management changed and the property became The Den. My experience was fine until the exorbitant price increase. My lease was $1,785/mo, but when it came time to renew, they raised the rent to $2,300/mo—my jaw hit the floor. For that price, I would expect amenities like a dishwasher and IN-UNIT washer/dryer, neither of which my unit had, especially for more than $2,000/month for a 1-bed, 1-bath. Months after the price hike, they sent several emails offering a 'limited reduced rate,' which was only slightly higher than what I had been paying—$1,785—now increased to $1,850, a rate that was completely reasonable! TL;DR: Be wary of potential price gouging.

I recently moved into a renovated unit and all i can say is it’s amazing. Not only are the units brand new, i have new appliances, flooring, granite counter tops, everything you could think of. The office staff is very helpful & is there whenever i have needed them. Kaitlyn has helped me with every single question i’ve had & she’s made Hunting Lodge my home away from home. I am going to renew my lease and stay here until i graduate! The proximity to campus is very close & there is a bus i get on that takes me directly to campus, so i don’t need to pay for Uconn’s parking. I highly recommend living here, i have had no problems!

I toured here a few weeks ago and with the renovations, it’s so nice! It’s only a 3-4 minute drive to campus & the bus will come in handy. Kaitlyn and Derrick in the office were super helpful with giving me all the information and when Kaitlyn gave me the tour, she was able to answer all of my questions and made this moving process a lot easier for me. Hunting Lodge is so underrated!!

Beautiful renovations, pet friendly which is a must for me, on site maintenance is wonderful, close to campus but quiet enough to enjoy!! I can’t say enough wonderful things about Derrick and Kaitlyn- management under these 2 is phenomenal!! This is the place to live. Whole package!

Leased an apartment here from 2020, lease is ending in august of 2022. Highly regret my decision to lease from them. Management does not care at all about residents. Maintenance is hit or miss. They take advantage of students not having the resources to hold them accountable for repairs, safety, etc. We had a terrible bathtub that was peeling and moldy and it took about 2 months to have it repairs just for it to peel again and get all crusty. The internet is garbage too.They own other places like Cedar ridge, club house, you can look it up it's all the same management. Avoid at all costs. Your money will be put to better use at Carriage house, Celeron, or even on campus at Charter oaks or hilltop. The only benefit to leasing here is proximity to UConn and slightly lower rent but it's pract
