Sunset Terrace Apartments

Close to campus and town. Many students walk to HSU. Shay park is nice. Everything about these newly built apartments are CHEAP. Expect brand new things to fall apart. Plus side, they are easy to reach and understanding. I always see maintenence on property. The grass is taken care of and there are nice plants. You'll most likely have ants often because the entire complex is built on their underground city. Most tenants have similar issues. I've been seeing more garbage around the property that never gets picked up. Also there is a open door clinic being built next door now.

Two stars because of the location to HSU and the fact it’s a new building. The on-site manager is unprofessional and unreliable, tenants are left trying to deal with other drunk tenants being loud after 10pm almost nightly, there is no enforcement on parking, and trash is left strewn about the property regularly for weeks at a time despite there being “groundskeeping”. This is a great place to live if you love hearing obnoxious, drunk people nightly..

I’ve lived here for over a year. There’s occasional noise because it’s mostly college kids that live here. Usually if you call Arcata PD they will handle this if late at night. The resident manager does his best with the limited power he has from the property managers. The location is great and everything is new so that’s a bonus and the property is really nice with barbecues and multiple laundry rooms to access. The apartments are expensive for 384sq ft, but it’s California and there’s a housing shortage in this city. Overall I really love it here

Don’t let the nice looking complex fool you these apartments are terrible. Cheaply built with gaps everywhere. Nothing you need to get fixed will get fixed. The laundry machines are all disgusting and will make your clothes stink.

My son 's been staying here going on 2yrs . He goes to Humboldt State university. It's within walking distance of the school , restaurants ,etc . He loves it here.
