Be cautious, VERY cautious! Their subcontractors are sloppy, they have no pride in their work at ALL. A terrible example of professional contractors, by the way their sites are junked up and messy. Their contractors don’t clean up after themselves. They are still building in the subdivision we bought in and there are paper cups, water bottles, cola cans blowing in our yard. They pile their messes all over the yards, seems to be an accident waiting to happen. Their competition across the way have very clean and orderly work sites. They didn’t use drop clothes and there are globs of paint, stucco, and putty from the tape and bedding on the patio, the porch and the garage floors. I searched for months, for a company to build my forever home. Stuard Homes was the very last place that I looked. I absolutely fell in love with the floor plan that ended up becoming my home. The staff at Stuard Homes were very professional and understanding with me during the process of building my home. The end result brought me to tears! I couldn’t imagine getting emotional over a house, but I still get emotional knowing this is mine! I have had several people come tour my house and fall in love with it! Some even decided to build. If you’re looking for a beautiful home, built in a great amount of time, Stuard Homes is the place to look. The prices are very reasonable! Would not buy here again! My home is falling apart just after 3 years! I have to fix a whole lot of stuff, tile, electrical outlets, drywall, doors, light fixtures, poor landscaping, bad stucco job, showers falling apart, grout cracking EVERYWHERE!, HVAC unit leaks like crazy just after the first year I had to put 6lbs freon in which cost me $600. I cant afford to fix the leak right now, got to save up. Also carpet was rolling up just after 1year of move in, foundation is cracking in the middle of living room, had to replace all water fixtures because they all started to fail and break. Disappointed. I was pre-approved by 2 lenders before going to look at the houses ABS had to offer, but they do not want you to use your personal lender. They seemed very pushy on using their primary lender. Deal was if you use their lender they would pay $6,000 in closing cost but I was only offered $2,000 due to using my lender. Called to see if I could negotiate the numbers to at least $4,000 (still saves them $2,000). I was informed that they could not do that, from a business stand point it's just ludacris. You'd figure since it was saving them money, on top of them making thousands of dollars on selling a home it would make sense to give the extra $2 grand. Don’t even consider buying/building a home with them. Once they get you to buy it. They’ll never help again. My backyard is constantly flooding and the only answers I get is “the builder has 60 days to get back with you”. Every wind storm, big or small. I get home from work with shingles all over my front yard. Why should a BRAND NEW house need the roof to get patched over and over again? I have other friends and family members that had a house built with even bigger problems than me. Just got knock door to door, I’m sure they’ll have a list of problems they have/had with their house. They get you in, look at our wonderful houses, sign here, and then you never get help again. You have to go through a 3rd party to get any kind of warranty work done.
