Pineview Motel

This is a great home away from home or for anyone struggling to make their way. Can be a bit noisy from road traffic and other tenants but it's not on obnoxious it's just how the buildings are built.

Stayed at the Joy Motel during a snow storm on our trip to Michigan. The storm came on quickly and we pulled off at the Grass Lake exit and stopped at a gas station. We asked the cashier if there were any motels in the area (we hadn't seen one!) and after thinking about it she had this comment. "Well, there's one a couple of miles away where I stay...it's not fancy but it's clean and I like it." We asked her for directions and off we went. She told us that we had to pay with cash and that it was $30-35 for the night so I went to the ATM machine in the store and got $50. We headed out and in about ten minutes of trying to stay in the middle of the road during the "white out" we saw the light! The Joy has changed alot since I remember it....The owner is amazing and the place has given me and my husband the chance to start over our lives here in Michigan....We've been here about 3 months...The joy is more of a long term commitment...Its quite and all my Neighbors are friendly. Thank you Stanley for giving us a chance to start our life over here in A safe and warm place.We'll never forget you and our stay here.

Completely differerwnt experiences than 2 yrs ago.. Good job new management. Creating a place ppl are able to rebuild life cost effectively!! Very much needed for Jackson and its surrounding county!

I stayed at the Joy Motel for about a month and found it affordable and in a very lovely setting. The owner is friendly and very helpful. It feels like you are almost living out in the woods. I enjoyed the surroundings, the "neighbors," and the delightful owner, Stan.
