Parkstead Black River

I lived at Parkstead Watertown at Black River and the conditions were unsafe. Our unit was condemned due to wiring issues that created a serious fire hazard. On top of that, there was black mold, wood rot spreading through the walls, and even an open sewer line. Maintenance only ever did surface fixes instead of real repairs. It’s unacceptable for housing to reach the point of condemnation while rent continues to rise. Families deserve safe, healthy homes — not hidden hazards.

I’ve been living in this apartment complex for a little over two months and have had a great experience. The maintenance team is super responsive and always fixes issues quickly. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly, which is perfect for me. The location is also amazing, with plenty of things to do and explore nearby, especially for those new to Fort Drum. The apartments themselves are spacious and the application process was a breeze. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place to others looking for a comfortable and convenient living experience!

I recently toured Parkstead of Watertown at Black River and had a fantastic experience, thanks to the Assistant Property Manager, Cindy. From the moment I arrived, they were warm, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable about the property. They took the time to walk me through every part of the apartment, answering all my questions clearly and thoroughly. The apartment itself was clean, modern, and exactly what I was looking for—but what really stood out was the level of service and attention to detail throughout the tour. Cindy made me feel welcomed and never rushed, which made a big difference in my decision-making process. They also highlighted community features I might have overlooked, like the fitness center, pet-friendly areas, and resident events.

They won’t have your apartment ready for you at move in and will come up with one million excuses as to why they dropped the ball. Moved in on a Friday, waited 6 hours in my car after driving 20 hours because they didn’t have the apartment ready. Came back on Monday to finish the job that should’ve been done far before move in. Have had a maintenance request in for 2 weeks for a strong gas smell and showers not working and they don’t care. Your safety is not priority, nor your happiness. Move somewhere else. They’ll be the most nice people until you sign your lease, then they will be the most miserable and lazy people you’ve ever met. 0/10. Also the lease has so many illegal things throughout, the first page reads “You'll also pay a charge of 40.00_ (not to exceed $20.00)” they have no ide

I lived there for almost 3 years and was overall pleased with the experience. Some positives include the maintenance staff being extremely professional and they always responded to our issues in a timely manner. I also liked the fitness center within the complex, it had a decent amount of equipment (although the rowing machine could use some work). The front office team was usually pretty responsive depending upon the issue. The place used to have a lot of playgrounds on site for the kids, but most were removed between 2023-2024. That would probably be my only complaint about the place, otherwise I felt their management team was pretty fair.
