Don’t get me wrong—the facilities were spacious and modern enough for us to pull the trigger and move in, especially because we were in a crunch. However, there were so many hidden fees that were not discussed with us prior to moving in, and their policies seem to change regularly. For example, when we moved in, we were told we would be paying our rent ($1,313) along with water and trash. What we were not told was that we would also need to pay a separate electric bill apart from the one we already pay to AEP for the apartment’s electricity, along with a billing fee, a storm water fee, a sewer fee, an insect control fee, and a liability waiver fee. (The liability waiver fee is where they bill you for a second renters insurance policy, even after you have already provided proof of your own
What to say, and where to start! From Most recent, going back to when I moved in my apartment. First I want to say Emily, Thank you so much for everything and being who you are! Whenever I come in contact with you in person, just seeing you on the property or during a meeting with you, you're always full of a smile. You are always helpful, and understanding. Everything from how you explain things, all the way getting right on top of things. We've had some MINOR miscommunication a couple times, but even still things were always made right. It has never changed how I feel as a tenant. Thank you for everything, from the bottom of my heart. You have been the second best Property Manager I have had. We just moved in a week ago and love it so far. I uploaded a few pictures i took the day we moved in. We have the upgraded two bedroom and love the look of the dark cabinets with the black appliances. The master bedroom and walk in closet are so big. I have never had a garage before so that was a huge help in us deciding on this place. I love that it has an extra half bath but I wish The full bath and half bath areas were switched. So far the community has been extremely quite. The day we moved in the office was having a pizza party so I got free food and to meet several of the other residents who were all very nice and told me about their experiences living here and how long they have been here. I am glad that they offer a referral bonus because this place is going to be so easy t
They didn’t tell us the amount of fees they would hit us with when moving in to our apartment. It’s actually ridiculous! The amount we pay for all this, is what we could be using on a freaking house. Every month is something new to charge.. I just don’t get it. They need to do better about telling you what exactly is going to be on rent other than saying oh it’ll be this much and then the longer you are here the more it goes up due to the dumbest charges. Not only that but when we moved in we were told multiple things were going to get fixed before we moved in.. nothing was fixed and we waited about 3 months or longer before they actually sent someone out to fix SOME of the issues. All around I’m very disappointed with my experience at Muirwood thus far. At this point I don’t recommend.
I was told by management that the apartment was completely renovated, and that was not true. I experienced many broken fixtures from windows, jammed that won’t open,screens torn or installed improperly leaving gaps, seals coming off the window frame, black mold growing outside of the home on the home, and inside the basement, also mildew or mold in the bathroom and kitchen cabinets, water damage to the flooring and I was informed that this would all be repaired upon my move-in date of December 29, 2023, not only was it not completed but I wasn’t informed that it wasn’t done.. I had to move in to find this out and my overall experience with them in the last six months, is that when I call to report something needing repaired or done, they say they’ll write it down and get to it and it never
