Monterey Villas Apartments

The maintenance team, John and Chris, are excellent. They communicate clearly and complete work orders in a timely manner. I never have to wait long for maintenance requests to be addressed. They are always professional, courteous, and respectful. I’m extremely happy with the quality of their work and truly appreciate their efforts.

Monterey Villas is an excellent community to live. I have lived here for many years and have nothing but great things to say about living here. The kind staff is always available and ready to help. They have the greatest maintenance team who are so friendly, professional and any repairs I have needed are responded to immediately. I would like to especially acknowledge Jonathan who is the manager of maintenance. He is always so considerate and concerned that repairs are done professionally and always accommodates my time requests since I work from home. It’s a quiet and friendly community and so happy living here since 1986 before it was Monterey Villas.

Recently, with the changes to management and maintenance, this place is looking up. This past year has been so much better than the previous 2 leases here. My favorite person is Jennifer!!! She is always quick to answer the phone, updates me on information, and takes care of my concerns as if she were family. I wish I could give her 20stars for how great she has been with me and my family! The only reason I am not giving the apartments a 5star review is due to the first 2 years we lived here. However, with the changes they have made and how productive they have been, I do not want to give a low star rating. We chose these apartments back in 2019 for the low "rent : income" ratio, and being a military family, they made it very easy to move in quickly.

Don’t move here!!!! I wish I had read these reviews before moving in! The management is terrible to work with, rude, unhelpful, and makes it uncomfortable to use the pool. They over charged my last month rent then kept it in additional fees above my $1600 deposit. There are homeless people walking around and the cameras “didn’t get anything” when my car window was broken into. I had mold in the washer and dish washer and fungus growing from the walls. Yet they charged me almost $1800 after living there one year!

Don’t move here! I lived here from March 2024-2025. Management has been a nightmare to work with upon moving out. Once you give your 30-day notice they use every excuse to keep your security deposit & use it to completely renovate the apartment. They include one parking space per apartment & there are zero “visitor” parking spaces & hardly any parking at all on the street causing people to park across a very busy street in a different neighborhood. They claim to have a waitlist for upcoming parking spaces except it’s all bogus and people never hear back. The inside of the apartments are termite infested and they don’t care. It’s not important for them to do a good job on anything inside. Way too many layers of paint causing died drips & peeling, paint on popcorn ceiling & windows & everywh
