Marketplace Apartments

The management rarely reply to emails esp those which complains about major issues. (Edit: they are currently more responsive to emails) And also, my package was stolen in the apartment building. Yes, in the same apartment building which boasted security features and safety. They have CCTV but when I asked the property manager to check the CCTV footage, she just simply replied that they will look into it and let me know. After that, no one followed up. I have always feel that the management are have been ghosting people when it comes to issues and enquiries. The neighbourhood is not safe as well as I have seen homeless people lurking around the building. My apartment was beautiful and the move in process was simple however from the day I moved in it has been a mess. When I moved In there was a broken light fixture that they said was on backorder and would be fixed during my duration of 11 months there. Not only did they not fix it but they tried charging me for it in my move out fees.. There was a shooting right behind the building all blocked by police and delayed my move out.. and I was harrassed MULTIPLE days and night by the homeless people that live behind the building. They do not tell you hardly anybody is there for office hours and they tell you to go to the outfield lofts across the street if you need anything and they definitely do not tell you about the homeless folk taking up residence all behind the building. The day-to-day staff at Marketplace is super dedicated to their jobs. They always seem to go above and beyond to make Marketplace a good place to live and have taken action anytime a problem has been brought up.

Every time I come to visit my grand daughter, the handicap spots are always taken by someone without handicap stickers. Why have handicap spots if anyone can take them???? Not to mention the constant homeless issue throughout the day. It’s just awful. Half nice place but low quality.

Do not recommend as 8/25/15: Submitted a service request 10 days ago for an AC leak and still no answer. No person as far as I could tell has inspected the issue to date (8/25), no one has said they will get back to me, or even an excuse that maintenance is delayed. Zero, nada. Gillespie Group/Marketplace Apartments doesn't take service requests seriously. This is negligence. There is also no routine inspections of appliances/AC units outside one annual inspection that's legally mandated, so you either have to constantly monitor the appliances or submit requests for stuff they're suppose to maintain. Without doing this, you get issues like this. I also had a renewal issue where I charged >2x my usual rent erroneously, because Gillespie didn't follow through with the renewal in their syste
