Keystone Pipeline Inspection was recently in Canandaigua, NY doing their "Cured in Place Point Repair" (CIPP) process to repair old sewer pipe. They were releasing toxic gas within 15 feet of residential homes without any filtration, and the smoke permeated into multiple homes. The lack of safety they exhibited should be considered criminal. This CIPP process releases steam that can contain toxic gases such as styrene, formaldehyde, and various volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Inhaling these fumes can be harmful to human health, causing symptoms like irritation of the eyes, nose, and throat, dizziness, headaches, and in severe cases, respiratory and neurological problems.
