KB Home Birchwood Trails

This review is for the second section Birchwood Trails. The builder and construction workers for this section are amazing! The attention to detail and construction is extremely high quality. There are a lot of little really nice things/features put into these homes that you will not get with other builders. Also, the park here and all the sidewalks are great for getting outside time. Another thing we really enjoyed was being able to customize everything at the design studio. We had True Homes for the last house and this one is significantly better quality. Everyone who lives here is also super nice and overall great people. It is very family friendly!

We have had nothing but problems since we bought a lot in Birchwood Grove. This house didn't pass a framing inspection plus our own inspections have shown various issues. The whole house build was mismanaged by Don. Since we closed on this house on Aug 14th,we have had nothing but one issue after another. Here is our list so far: Grading issue, yard has been graded 3 times. Dead sod Drainage issues associated with grading Sod laid poorly with large rocks underneath Main water shut off at road was not accessible, covered in dirt, handle no where to be found Overpoured concrete on side of house Damaged siding Damage downspout Unpainted areas inside and out Ceilings in 3 rooms poorly mudded and sanded Damaged cabinet and 2 drawers Damaged countertops in bathroom and kitchen Loose faucet in ma

We have had a great experience with KB Homes. Ray is a great agent. He helped start our adventure and was with us all the way. Curtis at the Design Center was amazing to work with showing us all the options and helped us with making great choices. Eric with financing was remarkable in helping us get a fantastic rate. Justin, our construction manager, we can’t say enough wonderful things about him. He was always calm, professional, knowledgeable and flexible. He was great to work with keeping us informed every step of the way. He was a fantastic manager! This great team ensured we had an incredible adventure from the beginning. We love our new home. Be cautious when purchasing. KB promises several things but have not/will not deliver. Residents were told all roadways would receive a final pavement once sections were complete, however, KB opted to do the bare minimum and patch roads, leaving the roads uneven with several tripping hazards. KB stated they meet the minimum standard for NC DOT, however, it is not what was promised during the buying process. Some street lights still have not been turned on, leaving sections of the neighborhood in complete darkness. KB told residents it is their responsibility to contact Duke to get the lights turned on. For a company building and selling half million dollar homes, i would have expected them to fulfill their promises and deliver an even driving/walking surface that is illuminated.

We recently (Sept 2024) purchased a new home from KB Home, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience! From the first consultation to the final walk-through, every team member we encountered was knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely caring. They guided us through the entire process, explaining each step and answering our questions promptly.
