Gateway At Huntsville

It’s okay. Like other reviews said, you kind of get what you pay for, but it’s a pretty decent space. My main issue has been wifi and some cleanliness issues as soon as I moved in- giant stains on the carpet, mold, torn/ripping furniture, just stuff like that but nothing is the end of the world. However, recently my roomates and I have been having a lot of wifi issues. With Gateway boasting about its shuttle to SHSU and how perfect it is for students, you’d think that reliable wifi would be a major concern or goal, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. I understand wifi is through an outside provider, but when there is frequently issues it seems like maybe the apartment should make a decision to switch providers or do something about it. This place is the worst. We were told it had been cleaned. It was not. It was filthy. Rented a studio ~700 sq ft. It took 5 of us, 6 hours to clean enough to get it livable for my son. Nasty is the only word that comes to mind. Transport was unavailable, broken down every other day. WiFi was weak at best. Now we are getting charged back for a ratty chair that we never, NEVER used. I would look elsewhere before you sign anything here. The black in the air ducts is the mold growing. The bath sink was clogged and WE pulled all this crap out just to get the water to go down. The growing mold is in the kitchen. I literally cried leaving my son here. Proof is in the photos.

If you have people constantly coming to your office complaining about the wifi you would think they would switch to a new wifi company. Wrong. All gateway says is there's nothing they can do about it. Meanwhile when you call optimum they say your access point is offline and have you wait hours for a call back from "higher ups" just for the wifi to stop working again in a day and the cycle continues. Don't get me wrong gateway isn't the most terrible place in huntsville, but when you know the majority of people who live here are students who are paying for your advertised "high speed internet" that is constantly going out and nothing is being done about it it's very frustrating and hard to want to keep living here. There's no reason I should be having trouble turning in assignments on time

This is a terrible apartment complex. Not safe, not ethical. My daughter, a first time renter there, had several instances where random men were at her door knocking and would not go away or were around her apartment and they were not tenants. These were people that were beyond the normal university students that you would expect to be around there. Then when she moved out they scammed her out of money saying she did not turn in her keys. She did turn in her keys in an envelope with her amenities card (access to main building). They claim that the keys were not in with the card. Unless you want to be taken advantage of I would not recommend renting from this property or any property owned by this group. Horrible Management. Horrible Maintenance. Horrible Corporate Office. Miserable living experience. They put profit before providing a safe living place for residents. My apartment has leaked three times in two months. They keep painting over the leak and it keeps happening.
