Encore at Chatham Park - David Weekley Homes

We are considering purchasing a David Weekly home but there are a couple of disappointing items not available. The home we are interested in has storage above the garage; there is no thermal barrier on the roofing (LP Techshield) which is important for high temperatures in the attic. We want to downsize and need the storage area but don't want our items ruined with excessive heat. Also, there is no irrigation for the grass in a 55 year old community, don't want to put the sprinkler out. There are some good features with the homes, but these homes are supposed to be energy efficient. It is only pennies on the dollar for a thermal barrier on the roofing - thank you

As someone who purchased a home from Weekley Homes in a neighboring Encore community, we have been extremely disappointed in Weekley Homes and its area management. Our community has yet to transition from a builder controlled board and we have owned for nearly 3 years. Customer experience is important to them until post sale. Communication is Wizard of Oz style. A dam was transferred to homeowners from the developer to the HOA in fair to poor condition, common areas have many deficiencies, and the builder controlled HOA is only accessible through its property management company. While the Division President answered an initial email of concern, promised follow up never happened. Edit: Further disheartened by Weekley Homes response. Excellent experience from first visit with my clients to closing. I've worked with many builders and I can count on David Weekley to consistantly deliver a great home and building experience.

I have seen David weekly homes at Chatham park and they're great beautiful. However the HOA management crew from Omega will make you feel like you live in a boarding school. None the less, they represent the needs of the builder. The community may join the Architectural review crew but the rest is left in the handd of a ruthless few. Hopefully these homes are not suspended on wooden slaps like the Garman homes. Else your whole living room will rattle if you stamp your feet. 1 less star is for the choice of HOA . How can someone who does not live in a community dictate the lives of people who live there? It's like an old man making birth control decisions for the younger women of another community.
