Truthfully, 1 star is too high for Dannin. Since September 1, we have not gone more than 7 days without something not working in our building. In the last two months alone, we have had: -5 elevator outages -3 heat outages -2 plumbing issues -the laundry units not working Additionally, Danin is very slow to respond to issues and clearly don't do a very good job of actually fixing the problem. Every time you ask for help they make you feel as you are inconveniencing them, and even simple requests like getting added to the building update email distribution list is a hassle. if you have a viable alternative to live/work with a different management company, I strongly suggest you do everything in your power to avoid Dannin.

Kathleen and Dannin management are running a scam and don’t abide by basic ethical standards. During a refinancing, Kathleen ignored numerous emails directed to her, and the day after the deal fell through due to her inability to provide documents on time, she told me she had contacted a lawyer to help provide the documents and that I would be liable for the associated costs. I lost thousands of dollars in appraisals and origination fees, and Kathleen simply told me to “salvage (the) deal” as she proceeded to charge me costs for her services. Highly unprofessional and would avoid this unethical company looking to profit through deceit (despite a $790/month HOA fee).

Do not hire them as your property manager, unless you truly want a completely 'hands off' management. Ed was our building's property manager and he was absolutely and utterly useless. We asked him to install common area floor tiles for MONTHS. 8 months went by and nothing happened. We also asked for security cameras to be installed due to packages being stolen. We asked for TWO YEARS, and nothing ever happened. Once we escalated this to Steve Dannin, the owner, he never responded to a single email. Also, they talked for years about how they were going to conduct a capital improvement study. This was never done for the 5 years that I lived in the building. They don’t even deserve a star it’s so terrible. I’m not even sure where to begin. I will say that me and my partner were always the middlemen because we did not own our unit and had a landlord. That said anytime anything went wrong Dannin went straight me and my partner but when we voiced a complaint we had to go through our landlord only. Doesn’t really make much sense when you can talk to us directly but we can’t talk to you? Especially if it was URGENT and they were in violation of MA law!! Either make it a straight system or don’t. It's no wonder the ratings are so low. Dannin Management is a terrible company. They are not shy when it comes to collect condo fees, but good luck finding them when you need their help. The superintendent of the Brookline building Matt Connors can change light bulbs, but when it comes to more sophisticated repairs, it takes him days or sometimes weeks to find someone who can get it done, even if there is no heat or electricity in the affected unit. He doesn't live on site, so finding him is a challenge; no phone calls are returned. The manager of the building is Kathleen Carlo.
