One of the deciding factors was his hands on craftsmanship and that his crew traveled to the building site to raise the timbers! Having a professional crew that knew how to raise the timbers saved us lots of time and of course dollars! I participated in a Japanese bell tower workshop in Idaho thru the Timber Framers Guild that Collin was in charge of. Collin has great enthusiasm and organization to complete the project on a personal level. In addition his crew was also involved in the workshop. One afternoon our workshop students visited a very high end house that Collin was in charge of and designed. I was very impressed with the creativity and high skill level to detail and function his crew produced. The owners of the house enjoyed showing off their work. I remember Collin said he just had to go to the site and stay to feel the land to get his design. Collin is very gifted and is quite an unusual character.

Collin Beggs and the entire team are extremely talented and professional. As an architect at Artisans Group Architecture and Planning, I had the pleasure of working with them on an enormous and complicated custom octagonal residence. The client, GC and I all visited the timber frame shop and toured past projects. Collin designed an exquisite timber frame that was cohesive with the architectural plans.
