Buyer beware. We recently (last week) put an offer in on a property which was over the list price. The seller agreed to that price and to also cancel the two open houses that were scheduled for last weekend. After the offer was accepted a stipulation was added that the owners would need a contingency to allow them time to find a home and also relocate. Which we agreed to. The seller agent had agreed to only take back-up offers and continued to show the house. They received an offer higher than ours and first told us that the original offer was not accepted and also indicated we could offer a higher bid, AFTER THE ORIGINAL BID WAS ACCEPTED.
