The design meeting was very extensive, we were pleasantly surprised that we were able to add cabinets, ship lap, beams among other items. The communication during the build process was very good, seeing we lived out of state weekly updates were welcomed. I have worked in the construction industry for over 30 years and have built many custom homes. Keep in mind that the subcontractors build your home. From my experience, Cardel selects and treats their subcontractors well. This means you will get better subs building your home and should result in fewer problems. We recently visited Seaflower in Bradenton, Florida and fell in love with one of the Cardel Homes models. After several visits and conversations with their sales representative, Nichole, we decided as a family to move forward and even put down a deposit on a lot. From the beginning, I made it very clear that our equity from the sale of our home in Ohio would be used for the down payment. Due to extensive hurricane damage and ongoing insurance disputes, our liquid cash is temporarily limited, but our home is already listed for sale with significant equity. BE CAREFUL BEFORE BUYING A HOME HERE! I had a crack in my ceiling, and from the beginning, the work was poorly done. The contractors didn’t add mesh at the junction of the two drywall panels, which led to a crack forming there. Warranty manager assured me they’d fix it and make it less noticeable, but now, in the evening light, there’s a noticeable hump on the ceiling. Despite multiple visits for ‘repairs,’ the hump remains, which clearly shows low-quality, unprofessional work. The warranty department has been unhelpful throughout, adding to the frustration. Warranty manager even said that adding a hump instead of fixing the crack was ‘industry standard.’ Think twice before considering a home here. We had our design appointment with Kelly and it was such a pleasant experience. She is very kind, courteous, and patient. She didn't push us to upgrade anything we were considering, but she did offer us good suggestions to make our new home "Our New Home." She has a good eye for colors. We were very happy that we experienced the same level of customer service as we did with our sales agent. Cardel is providing us such a good buying experience.
