David and Adam at Carbide are nearing completion of a modular build on our 1940s Cape Code that almost doubled the square footage of our house. We could not be happier with how it turned out. Home renovation is daunting to say the least and a huge expense. Carbide walked us through the process patiently from start to finish. From the initial conversations, to design, financing, choosing finishes and the actual construction itself, David and Adam answered our incessant questions and made thoughtful and informed recommendations along the way. We did a modular 2nd story on our 1st story down in Richmond. Time saving product once delivery. However took 14 months for delivery. Recommend you bring your own architect, it's worth the extra cost to have another pair of eyes on plans for an investment this big. In the end, we paid about $300/sq foot with homeowner acting as GC after the week of installation. Total construction was about 4 months once we got going. I'd use them again, however I'd add clause to contract that price either goes down or contract is terminated after so many months without delivery.
