Breakwater at Marina del Rey Apartments

There is so much to love about living at Breakwater Apartment complex. It's low density living right on the water's edge in Marina del Rey. Beside the water, there are the beautiful sunsets, the residents, the bike path, cools breezes and the Breakwater Staff! It’s a beautiful complex and I’m happy to call this place home. Keith, a member of the maintenance team, is also there to handle my maintenance requests. A huge shout out to the general manager, Alex, the onsite team at Breakwater, Matthew, Julia, the central administrative staff, Asia, and head of the maintenance crew, Alfredo. Thanks to all for your hard work and kindness.

I’ve lived at 3 equity properties and this by far is my favorite. The location is perfect. You’re close to everything yet tucked away in your own little paradise. It’s very quiet and the neighbors are kind and friendly. Jose, the community manager made my move in process super easy and welcoming. He continues to care about the residents after move in whereas other people I’ve dealt with in the past wash their hands of you. Jose truly runs this property with class and compassion. Any issues or concerns are handled with urgency. The units themselves are larger than most apartments in the area with stainless steel kitchens, really beautiful finishes that look super high quality. I'm extremely disappointed. There have been multiple break-ins, no real security, and elevators constantly out of service. Management takes far too long to fix serious issues. Carrying groceries long distances has caused ongoing back and neck pain. The ocean views are not enough to justify the lack of safety and basic maintenance. For the price, living here is simply not worth it.

I have been living here for nearly 2 years and have nothing but good things to say. Breakwater is a beautiful community with great management. The location at the opening of the marina into the ocean cannot be beat. Since day one, we have had a phenomenal experience with Rachel and Jenn. Thankfully, Rachel helped us choose Breakwater and has recently helped us stay for another year at least. We're excited for more beautiful sunsets!

Building has its negative and positives but maintenance team is phenomenal. Edwin is the absolute best, he is the best maintenance worker I've ever encountered at an apartment complex.
