I lived at Aspire for 2 years, and I would not recommend this apartment complex at all. First of all, the rent increase was not made clear when I renewed my lease. They also take advantage of young students looking for their first apartment by not being very transparent with most things in your lease. Like how you are screwed out of almost a whole month of living there by not being able to move in until about the 11th of August and have to move out by the 23rd of July. As for my actual living experiences, it was not good either. One winter, there was 2 feet of snow on the ground for 3 days before the sidewalk was cleared. The front desk people were very rude on multiple occasions, and I was lied to about different things as well by staff. I was in a 2 bed/2 bath and the cost of rent is n
I’ve been living at Aspire at West Campus for over two years, and while the facilities are fine the way they treat renewing tenants is deeply disappointing and frankly deceptive. Before renewing my lease, I was told by leasing staff that returning residents would receive discounts or special renewal rates. That turned out to be completely false. I later discovered — by checking the public website, not through any notice from Aspire — that new and renewing residents were being offered rent rates $110/month cheaper than what I had just signed for. That’s a 15% difference. When I went to the leasing office to ask for a price match or adjustment, I was told the promotion “just ended yesterday.” However, the discounted pricing was still live on their official website at the time of our conver
Overall a good option for graduate students. Though it's a bit pricey, I'd say it's worth it for what you get, especially for a shared unit. It's quiet, clean, pretty well maintained, and organized. Maintenance was typically completed in a reasonable amount of time, although I did not appreciate that they don't give you notice and will enter your apartment at anytime. They should give 24 hr notice as the lease indicates, and I did not get that once in 2 years. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful, with a few exceptions. Plenty of parking which is nice, and they frequently have small community events. They should also clean the hallways more than they do if they're going to allow pets. Again, good overall option, I would probably stay longer if they allowed non-students.
I have lived in these apartments for over a year and continue to live here (August 2017 - September 2018). Since I am not a student and from out of town I actually find the rent prices here relatively affordable (much better than NY/SF prices). But I understand how students, postdocs and regional residents find the prices expensive / not value for money. Overall I find this place reasonable and relatively safe. It's convenient to get to the groceries and to get to work. Pros: Maintenance is very good and respond immediately. Buildings are relatively new. Dogs and cats are welcomed. Bus stop outside allows me to get FREE transport everyday. Garbage disposal is straight forward. You get occasional community events like free summer bbqs and breakfasts. Cons: Expensive for students and people
This is my third year here and my experience with the apartment and the service itself have been good. Good size apartment with a little too big bathroom. Washing machine and dryer are included in my apartment. They always have nice monthly activities. Why 3 stars? 1) Aspire promotes themselves as exclusive graduate and faculty living. No. My assigned roommate is an undergrad who does not seem to know how to live with other people. Foods were stolen, dishes were used without any permissions, washing machine and dryers being occupied for many days, rarely clean the mess after cooking, just to name a few. Granted that I might be unlucky, but what they said is not true. 2) I have an allergy for dogs and cats fur, the information I provided. What happened? They paired me with a person with
