Alder Park

This complex has been an absolute worst nightmare. Please stay away from this place. There are better options out there. I can honestly say this is one of the worst apartments I’ve ever rented at. We’ve gone through two different ownerships and at least four different management staff personnel. No one is ever in the office. They never take care of the property after snow. It’s the residence jobs to make sure that they can walk to their cars after a snowstorm. It is always icy. I have never once seen a snow plow here. And they charge you for gas even though your apartment is not a gas apartment and a billing fee and then when you try to confront them about it, they tell you it’s always been there, but they won’t show you the breakdown of when they started doing it. Alder park is decent. I give it 4 stars because our apartment is gorgeous. They’re only a couple years old so everything is new and nothing is ever broken. The walls are painted with a cheap matte that scuffs easily and is impossible to clean. The gym is mediocre at best. The pool is small but gets the job done. Unfortunately some tenants here let their elementary aged children go to the pool unattended which is not good but of no fault of Alders. The community is small so it’s super quiet. The walls are a bit on the thinner side so you may be able to hear loud music from your neighbors but management addresses noise complaints immediately. We had an emergency maintenance incident and the maintenance man (didn’t get his name) was incredibly polite and apologetic. With all that being said,

Just got approved and Audrey has been so awesome. She has responded to every one of my emails and found me an apartment quickly. I will update once I move in and get settled. Second floor was not my first choice but will do for now.

This complex has been an absolute worst nightmare. I don't usually right reviews, but this place warrants a review. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. In fact I would not recommend this place to anyone in 7 lifetimes. I have never had a worst experience at any establishment in my life. Living here was tolerable, but when it was time to move out, it turned into botherline harassment. They told me I had to pay $600+ because i didn't give a 60-day notice prior to move out, to which I told them I have never received a letter to extend or decline. I ended up agreeing to it. After I moved out I was told I had to pay 448$ for utility disconnection fee. This is an APL (American Power & Light) complex. Expect a $200 to $300 bill each month even if you never turn on a switch. APL is a scummy submetering company owned by developers whose sole purpose is to milk more money out of tenants. Please google and research this company before signing a lease. The BBB and the Ohio Attorney General Office has been flooded with calls. Tenants here and social platforms are livid. Their existence is illegal in other states. On top of the scammed electric bill there is a monthly $50 amenity fee for the small gym, small pool, and broke grill. Waste and water are not included in the $1700 rent 2bd. The good: decent size, newer, and convenient location.
